Govt. surveyors to strike from next week
The Government Surveyors' Union says they would launch an indefinite strike from 08th of March against a move by the government to handover surveying of lands in Sri Lanka to an American firm.
The Union's President Duminda Undugoda said they have already launched an internal trade union action to show their protest against the planned move.
Meanwhile, a strike action launched by the university non-academic staff on 28th of last month citing several demands is continuing.
A trade union representative said that the authorities are yet to respond to their demands.
Meanwhile, the Public Health Inspectors in Puttalam are also planning to stage a strike seeking solutions for issues relating to their transfers and service centres.
